List of Final Year Project Titles for the 2012/2013 Academic Year

The Centre for Cooperative Research in Tourism, CICtourGUNE (www.tourgune.org), offers the following Final Year Project ideas for the upcoming academic year.

REF PFC001-1213 “Development of an information management system for exhibitions"

The aim of this project is to develop an information management system associated with elements displayed in museums, exhibitions, etc. and subsequent consultation by visitors through mobile devices. The interaction between visitor and displayed works will be done via an NFC system. The management system will be developed in a web platform and the mobile query system will be multi-platform using the mobile development framework Phonegap.

REF PFC002-1213 “Development of a localization system for interiors based on wireless networks"

The aim of this project is to develop a localization system for interiors based on detecting the presence of Wi-Fi networks via mobile devices. This system consists of a tool calibrating the system based on specific interior localizations plus an Android platform API which can later be used to develop localization based applications .

REF PFC003-1213 “development of an information management system based on cloud computing"

The aim of this project is to develop a platform for managing user context information (location, profile, speed, etc.) in the cloud, offering developers an API based on the REST design philosophy in order to program context information services.

REF PFC004-1213 “Development of a tourism route planner"

The aim of this project is to develop a travel itinerary planning system which allows tourists to obtain personalized routes based on their tastes and travel preferences. This system comprises a point-of-interest management system for destination management operators, and a user interface for selecting points of interest, which are then automatically planned in a route. A planned route can also be downloaded to a mobile device for consultation at destination .
