FORTTeCommerce

This is a collaborative training programme in tourism technologies based on two main criteria:

Criterion 1: Professional training in all of the value chain profiles of the tourism industry (from producers of ICT solutions to end users).

Criterion 2: Adaptation of long-term goals to bring training activities (individual or collective) in line with the Balearic Islands ICTs and Tourism Strategic Plan (2008-2011) and Horizonte 2020/Turismo 2020.

Overall objective of the FORTTeCommerce programme

The main goal of the FORTTeCommerce programme is to provide professional training (continuing education) in e-business for people working in the tourism sector. The collective comprises hotel managers, marketing experts, account managers and sales channel directors, among others. Specifically designed training is aimed at small and mid-sized tourism firms, geared mainly to the hotel sector.

Specific objectives of the FORTTeCommerce programme

• e-business training for people working in the tourism industry: innovating products and services, i.e. the effective and efficient management of ICT technologies applied to the sector. This entails designing a programme specifically oriented to the use of new ICT tools, innovative solutions, knowledge of the electronic market, techniques & methodologies, among other aspects.
• e-business training for people working in the tourism industry: new commercialisation channels. One of the aspects analysed in the tourism sector are the new opportunities created by information technologies in the areas of commerce, product marketing and customer relations. Therefore, the programme is also oriented to online market relationships and the impact of Web 2.0/Tourism 2.0.
