Ernest – European Research Network on Sustainable Tourism – is an ERA-NET product funded by the EU Seventh Framework Programme. For the first time, a large group of regions and other organizations have undertaken steps to strengthen the contribution of sustainable practices to the competitiveness of destinations. The project addresses the issue of sustainable development of the tourism sector through coordination and collaboration among regional research and development programmes, and through coordination of bodies belonging to each region taking part in the Ernest consortium. |
