WHAT IS THE ACCESSIBILITY?
The accessibility is the way to accede to the information without and limitation due to a disability. There are many people who accede to the information of web sites from contexts that are very different from ours. We mean people who could have hearing, seeing and mobility difficulties. There could be people who have reading and comprehension problems; or people who cannot use the keyboard or the mouse properly. We can also include in this group those people who have an only text reader, a small screen a limited connection... Definitely, we are talking about users who with technological limitations.
These communities represent a 10 or 20% of the population, and navigating in the actual web sites is very difficult and sometimes impossible for them.
In order to solve these problems many instruments and tools have been created, which allow the adaptation of the computer so that it could interpret the different contents correctly (such as voice navigators or screen magnifiers).
THE WORK OF CIC TOURGUNE TOWARDS DISABLED PEOPLE
In order that our web site could be available for most users, CICtourGUNE has tried to create an accessible web site for all of our clients and friends, regardless they are disabled or not. With all this, we want to contribute to the reduction of the barriers and social discrimination that have been created due to the new technologies.
Therefore, we have applied the Accessibility Guidelines or General Principles of Design established by the WAI working group (Web Accessibility Initiative) that belongs to the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).
We have also used standard formats defined by the W3C and we have followed the Accessibility Policies generated by the WAI, fulfilling therefore the AA level.
If in spite of our work, you should find some navigation or visualization problems in our Web site, please, do not hesitate to contact us using the following electronic mail address

STANDARDS
The languages used for the contents and the structure are XHTML 1,0 and ASP 2,0, and to arrange the elements and to present them graphically we have used Cascade Style Sheets (CSS). All the pages have been validated as XHTML 1,0 and CSS 2.0.
NAVIGATION OF THE WEB
Structure of the pages
In order to make navigation easier to our users, all the pages maintain a similar structure that is composed by:
A head, a navigation menu, a body or zone of development of the section in which we will see a foot or an inferior bar that "closes" the page.
The head
The head contains:
- Logo of CIC tourGUNE. It links from any site of the Web to the main page.
- Address and location of the company.
In all the pages of the Web, except in the main page, we have arranged two readable code links for the people with visual disability. These two links allow the users to accede directly to the main menu or to the development of the concrete section. With this we would like to help the users with reading software in order that they would not have to read in each page all the repeating elements until they arrive at the main menu or at the content of the page.
The navigation menu
The navigation menu on the CICtourGUNE web site is in the vertical side of the web; as it is expected to grow according to the needs of the company and it will move down without hindering the visual reading of the web.
In some sections we can find submenus which divide all the information they have. These submenus are also located in the left side of the web, which is exclusively reserved for the development of the menu and the submenu.
The body or development
The body or development is the central part of the web, where all the explanatory texts of each section defined in the menu are included. In the web of CICtourGUNE, this area (in some sections) is headed by an image which accompanies the text which is developed in the inferior part.
The foot
The inferior bat or "foot" is the closure of the web. For that reason, it contains elements like copyright and the legal warning.
However, as well as we have done with the heading, we have also included a link with the main menu of navigation, so as to help the access to the web to those users who have reading software.

Keys of fast access
We have created fast access keys in order to navigate easily.
The fast access keys in different systems.
In systems based in Microsoft Windows the used combination is ALT+Fast access key (in Internet Explorer 4.0, Netscape, Mozilla Firebird) or ALT+Fast access key+ENTER (Internet Explorer 5 or superior).
To activate the fast access keys in Opera: Capital letter key+Esc.
In MacOS based systems the combination CONTROL+fast access key can be used.
Used fast access keys:
c: go to CIC tourGUNE.
p: go to R+D Projects.
a: go to Cooperation and Alliances.
n: go to News.
l: go to Location.
b: go to Electronic Bulletin .
o: go to Contact.
t: go to Employment.
e: go to Related Connections.
f: go to frequent Questions.
Connections and images.
The great majority of the connections of this Web contain a title attribute description. All the images also contain a brief description by the alt attribute.
VISUAL DESIGN
This web site uses layers and Cascade Style Sheets (CSS) for the format of the visual information. The content of the presentation has been separated, so as to assure the correct access and visualization of the information in different environments. We have used relative font sizes, which can be configured by the users and the options of their navigators. We have proved the correct visualization of this web site in different versions of the main navigators (Internet Explorer 5.5 and superiors, Mozilla, Opera), platforms, equipment and configuration.
